MAVEA Initiatives
The Center for Career Development has partnered with the Maine Association of Vocational Education
Administrators (MAVEA) and the Maine Department of Education on a number of projects, including
statewide standards, School-based Learning Teams, Curriculum Integration/Maine Learning Results, and
staff development.
What's New:
- National Organization Overviews: Program Accreditation & Technical Skills Certification
The Center is providing support services for the Industry-Related Skills Standards Discussion Project
- a combined effort of the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) and the Maine Association of Vocational
Education Administrators (MAVEA). Secondary career and technical program instructors will participate
in a series of Skills Standards Discussion Sessions as a part of the multi-year continuum that MDOE and
MAVEA have undertaken to research, identify, evaluate, and implement industry recognized skills standards
in the Technical Centers and Regions. The Center has developed overviews of
national and Maine statewide organizations that provide program accreditation, technical skills certification,
skill standards, student assessment, or related curricula materials for secondary technical education programs.
